Build Worlds. From Scratch. ITECH 210: 3D Visualization is the course where imagination meets industry-grade tools — and the things you design can actually move.

What You’ll Actually Learn
This course is hands-on from day one. Over the semester you will:
• 3D Modeling: Build objects, characters, and full environments from the ground up using industry-standard software. You’ll learn how to construct clean, efficient geometry that holds up under any lighting condition or camera angle.
• Lighting & Materials: Discover how color, texture, and light transform a raw mesh into something that feels real. You’ll apply materials and set up lighting rigs used in commercial, cinematic, and product visualization workflows.
• Rigging & Animation: Give your models a skeleton. Learn how to apply rigging constraints so characters and objects can move naturally — then bring them to life with keyframe animation.
• Character Design: Move beyond geometry into expressive design. Study how 3D character work is approached in games, film, and interactive media, and develop your own original characters from concept to finished model.
• Industry Applications: Explore how 3D is applied across commercial, scientific, educational, and entertainment contexts — from product visualization and architectural rendering to medical imaging and virtual reality.
Where This Takes You
3D skills are in demand across more industries than most people realize. Graduates of this program have gone on to pursue careers and opportunities in:
• Game Design & Development
• Film, Television & VFX Production
• Product & Industrial Design
• Architectural & Real Estate Visualization
• Medical & Scientific Imaging
• Augmented Reality (AR) & Virtual Reality (VR)
• Motion Graphics & Advertising
• Character Art & Concept Design
• UX/UI Prototyping & Interaction Design
• Education & Training Simulation
Who Should Enroll
ITECH 210 welcomes students from all backgrounds. You don’t need prior 3D experience — just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn. This course is an excellent fit if you are:
• A digital design or media student looking to add 3D to your skill set
• A game design or animation enthusiast ready to move from idea to execution
• A product or industrial design student who wants to visualize and prototype in 3D
• A creative professional exploring new tools and techniques
• Anyone who has ever looked at a 3D render and thought: “I want to make that.”
